The story behind the image
Our 2010 trip to the island of Sardinia was a photographic feast. Sardinia has so many beautiful sights that it’s impossible to visit them all in just two weeks.
I took this photo at the Capo San Marco which is a peninsula at the western coast of Sardinia. The waves rolled in strongly from the Mediterranean Sea (while the sea is very calm on the other side.) There are beaches on both sides, but families with kids usually opt for the more protected side. In the back there’s the village of San Giovanni di Sinis right behind the watchtower. The archeological site of Tharros is just a few steps away, featuring ancient remains that date back to the Middle Bronze Age (read more about it).
Lovely.
