The story behind the image
Over the past couple of days I posted images showing the appartment of Schillerstraße 13 in Kiel, Germany, where my mother lived from about 1957 to 1965. This move from the house in Flensburger Straße had become necessary as it got too big and too expensive after the death of my grandfather Otto in 1956. My grandmother sold it and moved to a large appartment closer to the city center where also the family-owned stores were located. The neighborhood of the appartment was nice: the popular Schrevenpark with its large pond and extended greens was also just a few steps away.
My mother took a number of images of the appartment and exterior in 1963, probably using her Kodak Retinette 1B camera.
And this image, dear readers, concludes the mini-series about Schillerstraße 13.
And now for something completely different…!
