The story behind the image
We were exploring the coast of Québec in Canada and found Matane, a friendly town right next to the Saint Lawrence River. The large sign post advertised an Antique Voitures show. An opportunity we did not want to miss.
This Pontiac GTO 6.5 Litre from 1968 was on exhibition as a beautiful hard top variant, an early model of the second generation of this truly iconic car. It had a dark green metallic paint that was called “Verdoro Green Poly (43745)” in the original paint leaflet.
I totally adore the idea of the front lights that could be swiveled around by the driver and thus be hidden or shown just as needed. When hidden, the front had an undisturbed look. Complete luxury and without a real use case other than improving the design of the car.
That’s why I opted for this frontal view, and I still love it.
