The story behind the image
In 2023, we spent two weeks at the Baltic Sea in Grömitz, Germany. One day we made an excursion to the island of Fehmarn, visiting Burg auf Fehmarn, a beautiful city full of history, and the Flügge Lighthouse at the south-western tip of the island.
My photo shows the lighthouse from our walk back to our car. It’s a nice, short hike from the parking lot to the lighthouse and back. The community has restricted traffic to the lighthouse to not overload the small road and preserve the experience for the visitors. There is a paid transfer service, so you can even visit the lighthouse when you can’t do the hike.
