The story behind the image
We had entered Yosemite National Park through its eastern entrance and now drove up Tioga Road (Highway 120). Long windings and just light traffic, fortunately. The first lake we encountered was Ellery Lake with a convenient viewpoint situated right next to the road. The view was simply stunning: a clear sky, a calm lake surface, and a perfect mirror image of the opposite shore.
This image required just very little editing. I love the saturated colors (thanks to a polarized filter and Fuji slide film) and the overall composition.
Lovely.
