The story behind the image
When we travelled for three weeks across Ireland, we also stayed for a night in Kilkenny, a large town on the countryside in the south-east. The town is busy (and buzzing) and a good stopover. The castle looks great, and there are several attractions in Co. Kilkenny, for example Jerpoint Abbey or The Smithwick’s Experience Center.
My photo shows Kilkenny Castle from the Castle Park. It had stopped raining and visitors were having a good time on the large plaza between the castle and the park. On the left you can see temporary wooden walls that covered a construction site to renovate the castle.
I think I need to return one day with more sunshine. 🙂
