The story behind the image
Now that’re approaching November already, I think it’s fair to have a bit of a daydream by imagining a beautiful sunrise at the seaside. Add some palm trees that cover the warm light of the rising sun.
Just two months ago I experienced exactly this in Grömitz in Germany at the Baltic Sea! Grömitz is a village between Oldenburg i. Holstein and Lübeck and has a long history as a beach destination. Previously I already posted images of the past, here and here (and will continue to post more.) Of course, the lack of affordable color films in the first half of the 20th century made it difficult to capture such beautiful scenes on film, and it simply does not work in black and white.
Then again, maybe it does work on black and white?!

Whatever. I think it’s a beautiful image.
