The story behind the image
On our trip to the German Baltic Sea we stopped for three nights in Hamburg. That meant three days full of exciting views. One cloudy morning we began the day by exploring the city center at the Binnenalster. But – believe it or not! – the weather got better by the minute, so we also set sails to take a downstream ride along the Elbe river.
And we left the boat at Oevelgönne. This part of the city has an attractive museum harbor but also a beach. Admittedly, the beach is tiny by any means, but still it is a beach. Situated close to the prestigious Elbchaussee with its countless expensive villas, this probably makes one of most attractice places to live in the city.
While we stayed at the beach, there were kids taking a bath and swim, and two women walked by and gazed at the giant cranes of the harbour.
Very, very nice.
