The story behind the image
Here’s another image from our trip to the Dominican Republic in December 1998.
This image shows a combined souvenir shop, surf shop, and photo lab at the Calle Principale in Cabarete. Countless postcards were offered on stands in front of the shop. Its name was a perfect match: Cabarete Fotobeach. Of course, I loved the huge Fuji logo as I was shooting on Fuji film. 🙂
The building still existed in 2019 but the Fotobeach store, the souvenir shop and the surf shop have moved out.
