The story behind the image
I visited Dublin in Ireland in 2003 for a long weekend to enjoy the city with its countless attractive sights and rich history.
This is also expressed by the beautiful Georgian entrances that feature many houses in Dublin. Usually, you will go to St. Stephen’s Green to capture one or two of these. I found this beautiful door at 94 Merrion Square. It has a long history. According to the NBHS, this house dates back to c. 1750, and it was one of the first houses on Merrion Square. Sir Andrew John Horne (1856–1924) used to live here. He was one of the leading obstetric and gynaecological Irish physicians, who performed the first caesarean section in the National Maternity Hospital in Dublin.
Back in 2003, the townhouse was the office of TP Robinson Solicitors. Looking at Streetview history, the company moved out around 2015. In 2016, the house was up for sale.
