The story behind the image
What’s better to start the day with a sunrise? Well, here’s a sunrise I experienced in Grömitz in Germany at the Baltic Sea a couple of weeks ago. Grömitz is a village between Oldenburg i. Holstein and Lübeck and has a long history as a beach destination. Previously I already posted images of the past, here and here (and will continue to post more.)
It was the last day of our stay at the Baltic Sea, and so – for the last time – I grabbed my camera bag and walked to the beach to enjoy the incredible morning mood during sunrise.
In my image, the rising sun delicately illuminated the impressive sea pier. As a bonus, the tall ship J.R. Tolkien from The Netherlands was tied at the end of the pier, giving the beautiful silhouette an even more maritime flavour. The ship has its own Wikipedia entry (in German) as well as an official homepage.
Beautiful.
