The story behind the image

Petra and I got married today, exactly 22 years ago, so I wanted to share a photo we shot almost exactly one year before while we were exploring the west of Canada, including the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Petra looks beautiful as ever, and I look (a lot) younger, too. It’s hard to believe that we’ve now been married for 22 years, and I love her just like back then. Time flies!

Peyto Lake is certainly one of the must-see attractions of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. You will reach the viewpoint after a 20 minute uphill walk. The unique color of the lake originates from significant amounts of glacial rock particles in the water from a nearby glacier, giving the lake its bright, turquoise color.
