The story behind the image
In 1999, we travelled for three weeks across Ireland. We spent the first few nights in Dubln and then headed for Bray in County Wicklow, slightly south of Dublin at the east coast, because we wanted to visit the Wicklow Mountains. Sadly, in our case, the weather was wet, very wet. We had a lot of rain, and if it did not rain, there were deep gray clouds that carried more rain. Still, visiting Jerpoint Abbey, Powerscourt Desmesne, and Glendalough, was worth it.
My photo shows the main building of the Powerscourt Estate from the large park. It has beautiful gardens as well as an interesting history. You will find all the details on their official homepage.
Needless to say, I’d love to have more sunshine and less gray, but I still like the photo as it triggers some nice memories. 🙂
