The story behind the image
We were on our way from Revelstoke to Sicamous in British Columbia, and we used the Trans Canada Highway (Highway #1) for this leg.
Imagine our surprise when we passed The Three Valley Lake Chateau, a large hotel situated directly at the shores of the Three Valley Lake (go figure!) Its bright red roofs, well maintained gardens and a castle-like appearence made it a genuine eye-catcher that stood out against the dark rocks of the surrounding mountains, right next to the highway. Looking at recent Google Streetview images, the location has not changed at all over the past two decades.
