The story behind the image
The couple had picked a bright red Volkswagen Beetle 1302 LS Convertible for their ride. It had been lovingly restored by the owner and had already 95,000+ kilometers on the clock.
The groom was really fond of this car, especially as he was a car affiniciado.
Sure, the Volkswagen Beetle is classical choice for weddings, and I wonder about the reasons? Is it a symbol for the simplicity of life? That an expensive car does not make you happy over a looong period of time (but love does?) I don’t know, but every now and then I encountered VW Beetles at weddings.
The motif itself was pretty difficult as the flower bouquet did not perfectly match the bright red paint on the hood, resulting in an awkward contrast towards the Volkswagen logo badge. Then again, the color of the red roses was spot-on.
I like to capture details like these during a busy wedding day, because I want the couple to enjoy later what otherwise might get lost on their great day.
