The story behind the image
During our 1988 trip to Portugal we also stayed a couple of nights in Olhão. One day we explored the historic city center with its countless narrow streets. The buildings were often in a pretty bad shape.
This photo portrays the authentic charms of one of the R. Dr. Manuel Eusébio Ramires. The houses were tiny but probably cozy. Today, most of the street and the buildings have been restored while preserving the original look and size of the street. (The houses are still tiny.)
