The story behind the image
Schliersee is home to a small community of nature lovers, and it is easy to see why: its situated close to the mountains next to a beautiful lake (yes, the Schliersee.)
The community also takes care of not following the trend of placing buildings whereever there is a small free spot of land. No, it preserves larger meadows and also has no high rises.
So, when you are in the area and wondering what to do – why not do a side-trip by train to Schliersee and enjoy a walk around the lake (which can be done!), or do the short hike up to the Schliersberg Alm and enjoy the panoramic view from up there. The Alm offers a hotel and a restaurant.
There is even a (small) public swimming pool with one of the best views across the lake. So, why not bring your swimming clothes and take a refreshing bath in the pool?
