The story behind the image
The Canadian Rocky Mountains are awesome. Any nature photographer will find countless beautiful locations that are worth being captured on film (or on digital today.) The National Parks are full of visual miracles. But they are full of tourists, too, which is why you need to get up early to get some decent shots without folks walking, swimming, or canoeing through the image.
When we got to Lake Louise in the late afternoon, we were slightly disappointed. The majestic Mount Victoria was dipped in shadow, and a strong wind created countless tiny ripples on the surface of the water. Two canoes were on the lake.
We re-visited the next morning to see the mountain in its full glory and enjoy its reflection in the mirror-like lake.
