The story behind the image
British Columbia and Alberta are probably best known for the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Here is a nice shot of our 2002 trip to that area. It shows the beautiful valley below Mount Edith Cavell, situated about 25 km south of Jasper.
I like the unusual mix of yellow-brownish rocky texture in the front and green woods in the back. The few clouds add a bit of drama.
When we visited the mountain, we were stunned to meet just very few tourists. Maybe they were shying the 30 minute ride (one way) off the Icefields Parkway? I don’t know, but it was an almost magical experience to be with Petra in this beautiful place.
How much better can it get?
