The story behind the image
The island of Kos in Greece has everything you may dream about: Beautiful beaches, tasty food, friendly people, and a loong history!
One afternoon we were visiting Zia, a small mountain village situated in the center of the island. Its main features are the steep streets, the small shops with organic products and art, and a number of restaurants and cafenions. In fact, the village is so small that it provides a parking lot outside of the village, so that tourists can still come for a visit.
My photo shows the church Kímissis tis Theotókou lurking between the trees and buildings.
Nice.
Details on this church can be found at sakrale-bauten.de (in German.)
