The story behind the photo
On the island of Kos, Greece, we stayed at a hotel in Marmari Beach, a tourist village at the north coast. But we also did an excursion to the beautiful and busy city of Kos. (Well, as busy as a small town on an island can be.) It was a hot, sunny day late in summer, and we enjoyed the long walk along Vasileos Georgiou V. The afternoon sunlight already created nice, long shadows and dipped the scene into an light orange tint. Of course, I could not resist taking this panoramic view of the beach and the fortress Kastro Neratzia in the back.
Lovely.
