The story behind the image
Exactly 21 years ago we were on the Isle of Skye in Scotland and took a drive along the entire coast of the island
Here, we took a break at Neist Point at the west coast. We found true tranquility (and just very, very few other tourists!) and the rough weather that has formed the breathtaking landscape and friendly people.
At the end of B884 you will find the car park. My photo shows the view along the small peninsula of Neist Point with its majestic cliffs. Behind the cliffs is Neist Point Lighthouse, which was built in 1909. It is a bit of a challenge to get there: two steep steps need to be conquered before you actually get to the lighthouse. So please take your time (or be physically very fit) for this short hike. The views are definitely worth it. In the back of the photo you see the Outer Hebrides (South Uist).
