The story behind the image
At the Mediterranean Sea, early mornings are best enjoyed at the beach because the light around sunrise is simply magical, especially when the sea is calm. At Spiaggia 46 in Bellaria Igea Marina in Italy I found this traditional Italian rescue boat.
We keep fingers crossed that our preferred hotel at the Adria, the Hotel Torre in Bellaria, will re-open again in 2026. We love this hotel because the managers, Graziella and Costanzo, have been considering retirement for a long time as it is an enormous effort and also a high financial risk to operate a hotel in Italy these days.
You may wonder what makes their hotel so special? It’s not located in the first row at the beach. It does not have a pool. And the village – Bellaria – is nice but not really unique among the countless villages at the Adriatic Coast. So, what is it then? Quite simply, it’s Graziella and Costanzo Pantani, their family, and their team. They go the extra mile for their guests and provide genuine Italian hospitality with a friendliness we have experienced in just very few places before. And the dishes they serve are excellent!
Soooo, if you’re considering a trip to the Adriatic Coast near Rimini, why not do yourself a favor and consider the Hotel Torre in Bellaria? You won’t regret it.
