The story behind the image
Need a bit of maritime wellness in your life? Head for Eckernförde in Germany and enjoy the beach!! While the town has everything a tourist may need, including a small working harbour – it also has a long beach that is just steps away from the town center.
Our holiday appartment was situated directly at the beach promenade, and one morning I captured the view across the Baltic Sea from the window. Lifeguard volunteers of the DLRG (a German not-for-profit lifeguard organisation) were preparing their post for the day.
Lovely.
