The story behind the image
My 1988 trip to Portugal lasted six weeks, and it was probably one of my best vacations, ever. At the west coast we stayed for an extended period at the camping of Vales near Aljezur. From here we visited Aljezur (of course) but also the beaches along the coast. And we found a great beach nearby: Praia da Amoreira.
The only challenge was crossing the river, Ribeira de Aljezur, to get to the beach from the southern side. But the water went just up to the navel, and we could manage this easily. This saved us the long drive via Aljezur and Rogil.
One morning we drove to Praia da Amoreire and I captured the coastline towards south with a wide angle shot.
I recently did a fresh scan from the original 35 mm negative film. Of course, it cannot compete with modern digital photography in terms of sharpness.
Yet, I still like it.
