The story behind the image
Bellaria Igea Marina has received a new attraction this year: the southern mole has been extended by approximately 100 meters! Made from solid rocks, the municipality has had a flat path cut into the pier, which is easy to walk on. (Restrictions apply.) So, if you want to enjoy better views of the horizon or along the lungomare on both sides of the channel, this is the place to be.
When we walked up one evening to satisfy our curiosity, we were astonished to see a lot of people doing the same. Many anglers were present, but tourists and locals as well. So, it seems this new attraction finds wide acceptance!
From the new mole, I took this image of the Lungomare (towards north-west) after sunset. I opted for a longer exposure time to slightly blur the surface of the water, and to get that beautiful star-shaped pattern from the bright lights.
Very nice.
