The story behind the image
Here’s a trick question: What does a photographer do when he is bored? Well, he starts to shoot photos! And sometimes these photos are appealing, even if – like in this case – it’s just a simple mini figure floating in a pool, photographed with a smartphone.
One day, on a trip to Italy, I was gazing at the pool and wondered how to add some contrast to its catchy blue color. We had brought some toys for our daughter, including a set of mini figures. They were pretty new and not scratched at all, so I took this guy – a farmer – and lowered it gently into the pool. To my surprise, it did not sink and started to float slowly away. Then I grabbed my smartphone and took this fun shot.
