The story behind the image
Our 2004 sailing trip brought us to Sønderburg, a vibrant town in Southern Denmark. We had arrived in the afternoon, and when we walked towards the center of the town, we passed the Sønderburg Slot. It dates back to the 12th century and is home to cultural history museum today.
Sønderburg was a very pleasant stopover. The weather had been calm and warm, and the historic town center presents its rich history and small streets perfectly. There is even a small beach.
We stayed at the yacht harbour Sønderborg Lystbådehavn which is just within walking distance from the city center. Nice, very nice.
