The story behind the image

We’re back from yet another trip to Bellaria-Igea Marina in Italy! One evening we did an excursion to a town in the neighborhood: Cesenatico.

Cesenatico’s key feature (and must-see!) is its historic harbor with countless ships that have been beautifully restored and are now on exhibition in the town center. Left and right of the channel – Fosso Veneralla – you will find restaurants and bars next to both historic ships and active vessels. A bit further to the sea you will see the working harbor.

The mood of the Blue Hour after sunset was wonderful. I shot several images of the ships and the channel and (quietly) envied the folks who dined in this stunning maritime setting. (We had had a very good dinner at our hotel, though.)

Anyway, if you are in the area, please consider Cesenatico for a side-trip or stopover. You won’t regret it.
