The story behind the image
The Adriatic Sea in Italy is truly wonderful. The mild air! The salty smell of the sea! The waves rolling onto the beach ever so gently! To experience all of this, and more, we travelled to the town of Caorle near Venice in 2017, exactly eight years ago.
One evening we returned from dinner, and I captured this view of the Spiaggia di Levante with the Chiesa della Madonna dell’Angelo illuminated by the sun that would set 20 minutes later. The umrellas had all been closed, the wind had died, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Even a seagull flew by, searching the ground for some leftover food from the tourists.
Caorle? For me, it’s the perfect summer destination!
