The story behind the image
Italy! It’s beautiful and has everything you could wish for – in a single country, from high mountains to beaches, from well maintained highways to small bumpy roads.
On our road trip in 2000 we tried to avoid the large toll highways and use the smaller highways, the so-called Strade Statali. Between Parma and Berceto these streets guided us along the hills of the area with countless beautiful views and more turns than you could wish for. It’s a fun experience, especially if you like driving cars. (Which reminds me of an awesome TV ad for the Alfa Romeo Giulia: Last Chance To Drive.)
Anyhow, along the SS 62 – which is also called Strada Prinzera – we put in a break to take a couple of photos. Annoyingly, it had rained before but the rain had stopped and we could step out of the car.
I couldn’t resist to take a photo of beautiful Petra next to our beautiful car in a beautiful location! 🙂
