The story behind the image
In the early morning, during the ‘blue hour’ before sunrise, you can catch some of the most beautiful shots, especially when you are at the seaside.
This wide angle shot shows Bellaria Igea Marina in the early morning. Bellaria is a fishing village near Rimini in Italy that over the decades has become a popular summer destination. But the village has not cut off his heritage yet and is still home to a working harbour with an active fleet of fishing vessels. The fishermen depart every morning, and I captured the harbour during amazing light of the early morning before sunrise.
For this shot I used the Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens on my EOS M6 mark II body. It is a compact and versatile lens. At its widest setting it captures an impressive panorama. I especially like the illuminated bar on the left – The El mundo cafè – where the fishermen go before and after work. On any day there is some activity in the morning already, and you can hear them telling stories, exchanging news, or laughing.
Love it.
