The story behind the image
Our trip to the South West of the United States came slowly to an end. We had spent our last night in a hotel room in Petaluma, California, and had visited Point Reyes Lighthouse already. The weather was not good at all. At the lighthouse, a light drizzle fell from dark grey clouds, and I shot just one or two pictures there. Slightly disappointed we slowly made our way towards Redwood City were we would meet Petra’s relatives (and stay for the night.)
And then, a tiny miracle happened. While we were on the Shoreline Highway, the sun came out at Stinson Beach. Slightly south of the town there was a viewpoint high above the beach, and we enjoyed the view towards North. In the front is Stinson Beach, a bit futher down is Upton Beach, and on the right the Bolinas Lagoon can be seen.
Not a great shot but still very nice, I think.
The area has not changed significantly over the past two decades, so it is as beautiful as it was in 2003. 🙂
