The story behind the image
In 2006, I attended the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. My flight back to Munich, Germany, connected through Madrid-Barajas Airport (officially: Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas).
I remember that there was a problem with our plane, and we drove in the bus around the airfield for at least half an hour (with long stops in between). It was gettng pretty hot in the bus. During one of those stops we waited next to this plane, EC-JFN, an Airbus A320-200 operated by Iberia. At the time, it was just 10 months old, i.e. like new, really.
It’s rare that you come that close to a huge jet, so I could not resist to take a photo. Of course, the tiny P&S camera that I had brought was not good enough for a large shot, but I like the result anyway.
