The story behind the image
We arrived late in the afternoon in Las Vegas to stay for two nights on the famous Las Vegas Strip with its countless hotels, casinos and restaurants.
Sunset happened as we passed Flamingo Road at the Bellagio. We were standing on the bridge crossing Flamingo Road and looked along W Flamingo Road right into the sunset. On the left, the north wing of the Bellagio with the annex and its distinctive turret behind it. The tower in the back is the Palms Casino, which apparently only had one tower in September 2003. A second tower was added in 2005.
What! A! Sight!
The view has changed significantly since then. Not just a second tower (similar to the one visible in my photo) had been added to the Palms complex, but also another wide and tall building. I guess, the traffic jams have remained, though. 😉
