The story behind the image
We had booked a two week trip to El Gouna in Egypt. It was winter in Europe, but in Egypt the temperatures were mild. The hotel had looked soo good in the catalogue. Being a sceptic, I wanted to see it by myself before praising it. I was stunned by the fact that the reality looked even better than on the promo photos.
This view shows the main building of the resort and the garden which leads up to the swimming pool area and long, clean beach. The buldings have been kept deliberately small – just elegant one and two storey buildings that provide a sense of Arabian style.
Even today, more than two decades later I love the memories of this vacation.
