The story behind the image
We spent the night at Struisbaai in South Africa and headed the next morning to the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse to visit the museum in the lighthouse.
The lighthouse is located on the most dangerous part of the South African coast. It was completed in 1849 at an approximate cost of £12,000 (about £2 million today.) It is the second oldest lighthouse in South Africa and is a national monument.
Fortunately, we could visit the top platform. While the view from up there does not differ so much from the ground view (i.e., it is a bit boring), we enjoyed the fresh air and elevated position.
Nice.
