The story behind the image
While we stayed in Ucluelet for a couple of nights in August 2002 we explored the entire stretch towards Tofino. In Tofino we found The Wreckage. Sadly, I can’t remember what type of shop this was, but the outside areas were spectacular! Most notably the old ship that had been parked next to the house, painted in bright blue, red, and white. Dozens of objects in the frontyard of the historic house acted as eyecatchers, too.
However, the more than 20 years have left their traces, especially with the ship. Today, its cabin has tumbled halfway into the body which has been just half-heartedly repaired.
Here is an interesting Facebook Reel by UkeeTube which confirms the current state of the property.
