The story behind the image
Here is another shot of San Francisco in California. We were exploring the city center in the afternoon and walked along Market Street to see the Huge Phelan Building, a flatiron-style office building located at 1 O’Farrell Street.
The national flag was blowing in the strong wind at the top of the building. The triangle shape called for a frontal view over the corner to achieve utmost symmetry. The sun was almost exactly behind the top and gave it a bit of a glow while dipping the street in the shadow. What a contrast!
