The story behind the image
When in San Francisco, one of the (many) attractions is the city center. It is a fascinating mix of historic buildings and modern high rises (and some historic high rises.)
I took this view along Market Street from the corner of Powell Street. In the back, the clock tower of the Ferry Building at Fisherman’s Wharf can be seen. You can either walk (but it is not as close as it appears), take MUNI’s F line, or use a cable car. The F line (officially F-Market & Wharves historic streetcar line) should be most interesting because it is served exclusively by historic trams from around North America and Europe. As a passenger, you might even get a car from Milan in Italy that carries still all the Italian instructions (plus some English translations.)
Here’s an excellent article on Riding the F-Market & Wharves Streetcar Line.
