The story behind the photo
On the island of Kos, Greece, we stayed at a hotel in Marmari Beach, but we also did an excursion with a rental car to the beautiful and busy city of Kos. (Well, as busy as a small town on an island can be.) It was a hot, sunny day late in summer, and we walked up to the ruins of the Kastro Neratzia fortress that dates back to the 14th century.
The view across the harbour was beautiful. Even more beautiful is the fact, that at least this stretch of the harbour has not significantly changed over the past three decades! This is pretty unique in this fast-paced time.
Lovely.
