The story behind the image
We drove along Highway 20 from Bella Coola in B.C. towards the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and we had planned for three stops along the way: In Kleena Kleene, in Williams Lake, and in Clearwater.
Kleena Kleene is right in the middle of nowhere, really, about halfway between Bella Coola and Williams Lake, and situated next to the Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. We had picked this stop as we had no idea how long it would take us from Bella Coola to Williams Lake, and how stressful the drive on Highway 20 would be. It turned out to be a good decision because we could take our time to visit Bella Coola and enjoy the spectacular sights along the highway.
At The Log Cabin B&B in Kleena Kleene we were assigned the Trappers Cabin, a small log cabin, and as my photo shows, it was quite small on the outside. And – believe it or not – it was small and cozy inside as well! 🙂

But we experienced a refreshing night in the silenece of the wilderness. There was just a single howling wolf several miles away that woke me up in the middle of the night, but the owners confirmed the next morning that this is not unusual and nothing to worry about.
The Log Cabin B&B ceased business around 2006 and was sold to Brenda and Jamie who renamed the property to Rivers Edge Guest Cottages. At the time of writing, their website (www.riversedgeguestcottages.com) is unavailable, though.
