The story behind the image
Africa! The nature! The beauty! What’s better to take a short refreshing hike after hours of driving to your preferred national park or private game reserve? Well, well. There are some situations where you want to think twice before leaving your car, and it’s not just because it’s forbidden. There are reasons why at some places hiking is not recommended.
Here is an example. We were on a morning excursion at the Chobe National Park in Botsuana. It’s a pleasant tour as the experienced guide will drive you through the stunning park enabling you to safely discover the exciting wildlife of the park.
On this tour, we passed a crocodile that was resting in the soil of the park. It showed a ‘grin’ that is so typical for crocodiles but looked massive, powerful, and deadly serious. Just a few feet away from us. We were extremely happy to be in the robust 4×4 truck.
Exciting, yes, but also quite scary! Just imagine something had happened to the truck and we’d have to leave it. Oh my.
