The story behind the image
Today is the 16th March 2025, and it’s St. Patrick’s Day all over the world. In case you don’t know, that’s the day when Irishmen (and women) celebrate Ireland, its people, and all things Irish, really. As the Irish crowd in Munich got bigger and bigger towards the end of the 20th century, a small team organized the first St. Patrick’s Day parade in Munich in 1998.
In 2007 I took my camera and captured a number of impressions of the people and the parade.
I met this lovely group – three ladies and a giant glass of guinness – prior to the parade. Don’t they look just great?
A nice image for the local press, and great memories!
