The story behind the image
Portpatrick is a beautiful small village at the western-most point of Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland. Several colourful houses face the working harbour, including a number of hotels and B&Bs. When the weather plays along, this is certainly a good place to stay overnight (for example, at the Waterfront Hotel).
When we were in Portpatrick in July 2005, it was very hot, and we had been walking along the harbour and waterfront. We noticed the tiny beach of Portpatrick that enables you to easily enter the water or simply relax.
