The story behind the image
Nova Scotia is a beautiful destination, especially in summer. When we were staying in Digby, we took our time to drive all the way down to Brier Island, the most western point of Nova Scotia. This drive is also known as Digby Necks and Islands Scenic Drive. We had to use two ferries, but it was well worth the effort especially on a beautiful summer day.
We were waiting for the ferry to take us from the mainland to Long Island which is soo close but you still need a ferry to cross the water (hence the name, Petit Passage Ferry.) Anyway, we had to wait for a couple of minutes and used the time to walk up and down the road and enjoy the fresh and tasty air. Then the ferry arrived. You may laugh but to me it was an exciting moment when the powerful ship quickly came closer only to reduce the speed expertly and just in time to not bump into the pier.
I just love the image for the dominating blue and green colors, all yelling ‘nature’ to me. The single yellow lorry on the ferry adds a nice colorful highlight.
P.S.: Years after I took this image I purchased a Lego Set 60119 because it reminded me so much of this moment! 🙂
