The story behind the image
The Monumento a Vittorio Emanuele II (also known as Vittoriano) is a symbol for the Italian unification. It is located in the geographical center of Rome at the Piazza Venezia.
My photo shows the southern wing of the building from the Via del Teatro di Marcello. Right next to the Vittoriano is the Basilica di Santa Maria in Aracoeli. This historic church can be reached by walking up loooong stairs (aka the Scalinata dell’Ara Coeli).
As you can see, the weather on that day was just so-so, but I like the image anyway, especially the composition.
