The story behind the image
Why, oh why, didn’t I take the EOS M6 with me on that beautiful evening? The answer is simple: When we began our excursion through Hamburg that morning, the sky was grey and dull. Heck, there was even a bit of rain. Then, over dinner, the sky cleared up, and it became one of the most beautiful evenings you could imagine.
After dinner we entered the ferry back to the city center at the Dockland pier. The sun had set shortly before, and now the ferry was passing the Aurora cruise ship closely which had been tied to the Dockland pier just a few steps down the river from the public ferry station. It was almost as if I could touch its clean body with my hands.
It’s the smallest ship by P&O Cruises and at that, it makes a huge difference to other, much bigger, cruise ships. Oh, such a beauty! The stylish Union Jack painted on the front side made clear that the owner is “very much a British brand,” as they say about themselves on their site. (They’re American, by the way.)
Anyway, the vanishing sunlight illuminated the scene ever so gently. If only I had a decent camera with me…!
So, yes, I need to return with a decent camera. 🙂
