The story behind the image
This panorama photo shows the Lago Mulargia in Sardinia, Italy, seen from the SP 10 which connects
I composed this panorama photo from seven individual photos, all shot using the same settings. It’s a joy to scroll through the merged high resolution image (68 Megapixels). It’s almost as if I could experience that morning again, feel the heat and listen to the sounds of nature. (OK, I get carried away, it’s just a photo.)
If you take a look at recent Google Streetview images (from July 2024) you will realize that the level of the lake has been really low – some may say too low. That’s because the lake has been created artifically by blocking the Mulargia river, so the level reflects mostly the weather conditions. During a hot summer, the lake will be emptied but refilled over autumn, winter, and spring.
Anyway, I love that image, even if the format is a bit extreme.
