The story behind the image
I need to reduce my camera collection. So, this beautiful babe is for sale.
Here’s what you get:
- Used Agfa Super Silette L, a 35mm viewfinder camera with Agfa Color-Solinar 1:2.8/50 lens and matching brown leather case.
- Serial number ZC 4454 indicates a manufacturing date about 1958.
- The camera is used and shows signs of use.
- The integrated exposure meter works, and the needle in the viewfinder moves smoothly and returns an acceptable exposure value.
- The shutter releases and exposes the image apparently correctly.
- The film compartment is light-tight and the film transport works.
- Matching original leather case from Agfa with neck strap.

I photographed a complete black and white negative film (Agfa APX100) and was impressed by the results. I’m not sure whether the lens focuses correctly or whether I forgot to focus manually in the heat of the moment. Some images came out blurry. Images with the distance set to “infinity” were OK in my opinion.
The example photo below is unedited (I just reduced the size and saved as a JPEG), i.e. it is as it came out of the scanner.

It’s a beautiful camera that allows you to travel back in time to the 50s and 60s, makes a beautiful photo subject and is also suitable for getting started in analogue photography.
